Nepal  Astronomical society (NASO) in collaboration with Nepal Academy of Science andTechnology (NAST)organised the first Solar Eclipse Observation Campaign at the venue of NAST. The event was attended by Prime Minister of Nepal and the Chancellor of NAST,Madav Kumar Nepal , Vice Chancellor of NAST ,and Academician of NAST and President of NASO.

About 300 crowds gathered early  morning at NAST to view the spectacular view of solar eclipse . They observed the eclipse through the sunglasses provided by NASo. As well they enjoyed the image of the seen projected through pin hole box ,and the telescope.

Total Solar eclipse was observed  from  Eastern fourteen  districts and  from remaining 61districts  Partial solar eclipse was observed. People of Kathmandu observed partial eclipse of 96.6% obscurtion. It had its first touch at 5:46:11 and lasted till 7:45:32

The event was live telecasted through out the world by Sagarmatha TV.
